Brunsbach is a former court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and transport links

Brunsbach is located west of the town center of Hückeswagen in the valley of the Brunsbach of the same name on the federal road 237 . The place is no longer perceptible as an independent location, as the residential areas of the Wiehagen district have moved up to Brunsbach and the historic courtyard buildings were built over in the 1970s.

Other neighboring towns are the Hückeswagen core city, Waag , Wiehagerhöhe , Raspenhaus , Wegerhof , Kammerforsterhöhe and Grünenthal .

history

In 1481 the place was mentioned for the first time in the donation lists for the Marien Altar of the Hückeswagen church . The spelling of the first mention was Brunsbecke .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 there were 42 people living in the village. In 1832, Brunsbach belonged to the Berghauser Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had three residential buildings and five agricultural buildings at that time. At that time 50 people lived in the place, 18 catholic and 32 evangelical faith.

In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland , five houses with 45 inhabitants are given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had four houses with 54 inhabitants, in 1905 four houses and 39 inhabitants.
