Kotthausen is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and transport links

Kotthausen is located in the southwest of Hückeswagen on the border with Wermelskirchen near Straßweg . Other neighboring towns are Bockhacken , Strasbourg , Schückhausen , Dörpfelderhöhe and the Wermelskirchener Bone Mill . The place can be reached via a spur road from the L68 road near Straßweg.

Kotthausen is located in the headwaters of the Kleine Dhünn brook , which flows into the Große Dhünntalsperre .

history

In 1481 the place was mentioned for the first time in a list of donations for the Marien Altar of the Hückeswagen church. Spelling of the first mention: Kothusen .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 15 people lived in the village. In 1832, Kotthausen belonged to the Great Honorship , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had three residential buildings and six agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 21 residents lived in the place, six Catholic and 15 Protestant faith.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , seven houses with 31 inhabitants are given for 1885.
