Schückhausen is a village in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and transport links

Schückhausen is located in the southwest of Hückeswagen on the border with Wermelskirchen near Straßweg . Other neighboring towns are Bockhacken , Strasbourg , Kotthausen , Wickesberg , Purd and Wermelskirchen-Bergstadt. The place can be reached via two branch roads from the state road L 68 near Strasbourg and from Bockhacken.

Schückhausen is located in the catchment area of ​​the Purder Bach , which flows into the Great Dhünntalsperre after the confluence with the Große Dhünn brook .

history

In 1481 the place was mentioned for the first time in a list of donations for the Marien Altar of the Hückeswagen church. The spelling of the first mention was Schuynckhusen .

In the 18th century a distinction was made between the neighboring residential areas Oberschückhausen and Niederschückhausen, which from the beginning of the 19th century formed a common area. The two places belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen until 1806 . In 1815/16 there were 49 residents in Oberschückhausen and 25 residents in Niederschückhausen.

In 1832 Oberschückhausen and Niederschückhausen belonged to the Great Honorships , which were part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor's office . The places categorized as hamlets according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district had twelve residential buildings (eight in Oberschückhausen, four in Niederschückhausen) and 20 agricultural buildings (14 in Oberschückhausen, six in Niederschückhausen).
