Altenhof is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and description

Altenhof is located in the western part of Hückeswagen. Neighboring towns are Grünenthal , Wegerhof , Großenscheidt , Kleinenscheidt , Schneppenthal , Westhoferhöhe and Westhofen .

The Hofschaft can be reached via a connecting road that branches off from the K5 district road near Kleinenscheidt and leads to the historic center of Hückeswagen. In Altenhof springing Sohlbach , over the Berbecker Bach , a tributary of the Wupper .

history

In 1749 the place was mentioned for the first time in a document. The spelling of the first mention was Altenhof .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 there were 24 residents in the village. In 1832 Altenhof belonged to the Grand Honorship , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor's office . The place, which was categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had a residential building and two agricultural buildings at the time. At that time, 18 residents lived in the place, 16 Catholic and two Protestant faith.
