Kormannshausen is a village in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Kormannshausen is in the north of Hückeswagen near the Wuppertalsperre on the K11 district road. Neighboring places are Oberhombrechen , Mittelhombrechen , Niederhombrechen , Mitberg , Neukretze , Karrenstein , Böckel and desert .

The Leiverbach flows in a deep valley southwest of the village to the Wuppertalsperre. North of the village springs from Kormann Hauser Bach , south of Bach Kormann Siepen , both tributaries of the Leiverbachs.

In 1484 the place was mentioned for the first time in church accounts. Spelling of the first mention : Koermanshus . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the courtyard as Kermeshusen . In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen .

1815/16 lived 18 inhabitants in the place. In 1832 Kormannshausen belonged to the Herdingsfelder Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor's office . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had three residential buildings and five agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 21 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province in 1885, seven houses with 53 inhabitants are given. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had four houses with 34 inhabitants, in 1905 three houses and 33 inhabitants.
