Sohl is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and description

Sohl is located in southern Hückeswagen and can be reached via a connecting road that branches off from Kreisstraße 5 between Grünestraße and Altenholte , leads to the center of Hückeswagen and also connects Knefelsberg and Hambüchen . Neighboring places are Altenholte, Grünestrasse, Knefelsberg, Großenscheidt , Kleinenscheidt , and Posthäuschen .

The Hofschaft is on the edge of the Kobeshofen industrial area on Sohlbach .

history

The place was mentioned for the first time in 1596 . A Gortz uffen sole is listed in a collection list “ What each one gave to the poor in Lennepe damaged by the fire ”. Spelling of the first mention : uffen Sohl .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 nine people lived in the village. In 1832 Sohl belonged to the Great Honorship , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor's office . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had a residential house and an agricultural building at that time. At that time, 14 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

In the parish dictionary for the Rhineland province , a house with eight residents is given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had a house with five residents, in 1905 one house and six residents.
