Oberdorp , in the 19th century also Oberdörpe , is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and transport links

Oberdorp is located in the southwest of Hückeswagen on the border with Remscheid near Scheideweg . Other neighboring towns are Maisdörpe , Niederdorp , Winterhagen and Remscheid-Sonnenschein. The village can be reached via a branch road from the L 86 state road between Scheideweg and Winterhagen.

The Oberdorper Bach rises near the village , a tributary of the Dörpe brook , which later flows into the Wuppertalsperre .

Oberdorp borders on the Dreibäum golf course and the Bergisch Land / Winterhagen industrial area , the largest in the town of Hückeswagen.

The place was mentioned for the first time in 1532 : An Ailff to der Overdorpe , whose housewife and maid are mentioned in a list of residents. Spelling of the first mention : to der Overdorpe .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 53 people lived in the village. In 1832, Oberdorp belonged to the Great Honschaft under the name of Oberdörpe , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor's office . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had three residential buildings and six agricultural buildings at that time. At that time 48 people lived in the place, three Catholic and 45 Protestant faith.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , six houses with 32 inhabitants are given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had five houses with 15 inhabitants, in 1905 five houses and 20 inhabitants.
