Fürweg is a village in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and transport links

Fürweg is located in the south-east of Hückeswagen, directly on the border with Wipperfürth. Neighboring towns are Steinberg , Heide , Elberhausen and Wipperfürth- Neye .

The place is connected via a connecting road that branches off the district road K5 at Kleineichen , leads to the center of Wipperfürth and also connects Großeichen and Heide .

history

In 1483 the place was mentioned for the first time in church accounts. Spelling of the first mention: zom Vorwege . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows a Freihof and indicates it with advance .

The Bergische Eisenstrasse led through Fürweg . The place name Fuhr weg is derived from this old street .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 31 people lived in the village. In 1832, Fürweg belonged to the Berghauser Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had seven residential buildings and five agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 64 residents lived in the village, 56 of them Catholic and eight Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , seven houses with 75 inhabitants are given for 1885.
