Niederlangenberg is a village in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and transport links

Niederlangenberg is located in the eastern part of Hückeswagen on the Bevertalsperre near the border with Wipperfürth. The only neighboring town is Oberlangenberg . The place is connected to a connecting road that branches off from the county road K5.

history

In 1484 the place was mentioned for the first time in church accounts. Spelling of the first mention: Langenberge . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the farm as Langenberg . In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen .

In 1815/16 there were 66 inhabitants in the village, but no distinction is made between Ober- and Niederlangenberg. In 1832 Langenberg belonged to the Berghausener Honschaft (also no distinction between Ober- and Niederlangenberg) , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The (double) town, which was categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had ten residential buildings and 15 agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 69 residents lived in the (double) village, eight of them Catholic and 61 Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province in 1885, six houses with 39 inhabitants are given. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had six houses with 33 inhabitants, in 1905 six houses and 32 inhabitants.
