Altenholte , formerly also Holte , is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and transport links

Altenholte is located on the K5 district road in southern Hückeswagen on the border with Wipperfürth . Neighboring towns are Neuenholte , Sohl , Grünestrasse , Röttgen , Posthäuschen and Wipperfürth-Elbertzhagen.

The Hofschaft lies on the watershed between Wupper and Dhünn .

history

The place was mentioned for the first time in 1374: "The Cologne St. Ursulastift has income from the Hofe zo me Holtze in the parish of Hückeswagen". Spelling of the first mention: zo me Holtze

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 there were 42 people living in the village. In 1832, Altenholte, under the name of Holte, belonged to the Grand Honorship , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had five residential buildings and ten agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 57 residents lived in the place, five Catholic and 52 Protestant faith.

After the establishment of the neighboring Neuenholte in the second half of the 19th century, the place was renamed Alten holte.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , six houses with 53 inhabitants are given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had six houses with 44 inhabitants, in 1905 four houses and 27 inhabitants.
