Purd is a village in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and transport links

Purd is located in the south of Hückeswagen, on the border with Wermelskirchen and Wipperfürth . Neighboring places are Kleinkatern , Großkatern , Wickesberg , Schückhausen , Niederburghof , Oberburghof , Wermelskirchen- Friedenberg and Wipperfürth- Boxberg . The place is on the district road K 14 between Straßweg and Boxberg.

Purd is the namesake of the Purder Bach , which flows into the Great Dhünn .

history

In 1481 the place is listed for the first time under the name "in the Poirde" in a list of donations for the Marien Altar of the Hückeswagen church.

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 there were 26 people living in the village. In 1832 Purd belonged to the Grand Honorship , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had four residential buildings and eight agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 33 residents lived in the place, 13 Catholic and 20 Protestant faith.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , eight houses with 36 inhabitants are given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had eight houses with 39 inhabitants, in 1905 five houses and 30 inhabitants.
