The Hampang Hampang , also called Ampang Ampang , is a sign from Indonesia.
description
The Hampang Hampang is usually made of buffalo skin . It is an ancient type of shield that was used in the Indonesian region until around 1893. It is rectangular in shape and becomes a little narrower at the bottom. The sides of the shield are slightly concave on some versions . The Hampang Hampang is often decorated with tufts of horse hair or fibers from the Ijuk plant at the top of the sides. During wartime, the upper, horizontal side was also decorated with white bird feathers. The fastening holes for the decoration can be seen in the photo in the info box. The handle on the back is made of wood and is roughly in the middle of the shield.
