Hamulus

As Hamuli (singular Hamulus , Latin for "hook"), German also as wing or frenal hook, hooks on the front edge of the rear wing of insects are named, through which the two wings are connected. The hooks get caught in notches or behind the folded rear edge of the forewing.

Hamuli are formed in different insects, especially in hymenoptera , aphids , bed bugs and cicadas .
