Hanadi Zakaria al-Hindi

Hanadi Zakaria al-Hindi ( Arabic هنادي زكريا الهندي, DMG Hanādī Zakariyyā al-Hindī ; * September 1978 in Mecca ) is the first Saudi woman to practice the profession of flight pilot. She grew up in France and completed her pilot training on June 15, 2005 in Amman , Jordan .

al-Hindi is the personal pilot of Prince al-Walid ibn Talal , who supported and financed them. He is considered a supporter of women's emancipation in Saudi Arabia , but is banned from government offices. Hanadi has a ten-year contract with the prince.

At the graduation ceremony for their training, the prince made people sit up and take notice: "I believe that Arab women are just as, if not even more capable than their male counterparts."

Muhammad Audeh, the chairman of the flight school in Jordan where al-Hindi trained, said "It is a source of pride for us". Al-Sultan Owaideh, the Saudi ambassador to Jordan, said that Hindi should be an example for all Saudi women.
