Handbook of American Indians North of Mexico

The Handbook of American Indians north of Mexico ( Handbook of the Indians north of Mexico ) was reported by Frederick Webb Hodge published (1864-1956), it was published in two parts in two volumes in the Smithsonian Institution Bureau of American Ethnology Bulletin 30 (Washington, Government Printing , 1907–1910) with 971 and 1221 pages. According to a letter of transmittal , the alphabetically ordered manual contains a descriptive list of the holdings, confederations, tribes, tribal areas, and settlements north of Mexico (including the Eskimo), along with the various names by which they are known, along with biographies notable Indians, sketches of their history, archeology, manners, arts, customs and institutions, as well as the Native American words incorporated into the English language .
