Hand counter
A hand count (also People counter , click counter , clicker , lap counter , shot counter , batch counter , handpiece counter , counter ) is mostly a mechanical , device, with which a person individual events, people can count or objects with a touch of a button. The number of individual button presses is added to the last status of the hand counter. In some areas, such a device is also tally counter or Tally Counter called, see Tallymann . It is a special, hand-switched variant of a counter .
A hand counter is often used to count certain events; For example, counting people who enter a shop, traffic surveys , passenger counting on the train.
When a button is pressed, a continuous count runs, which can be read on a display.
Areas of use are major events , market research , traffic counts , forestry , biological laboratories, etc.
People counters are available as handheld and table-top devices and are implemented in very different technical ways - from simple mechanical counters with number rings to digital devices with liquid crystal displays and PC connection options. The latest developments offer automated counting using light barriers or computer evaluation of camera images.
