Mohammad Hanif Baktash , Ph.D. (Born May 9, 1961 in Maidan Shahr , Afghanistan ) is an Afghan poet and historian .

Baktash graduated from Habibia High School in 1978 . On May 5, 1976 he won his first prize د پښتو شعر جا یزه: دمور دورځې په منا سبت for his seals in Pashto . He received his doctorate in Moscow in 1993. He has been a British citizen since 2002 .
