Hanns Eisler Complete Edition

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hanns Eisler Complete Edition ( HEGA for short ) aims to publish all of the composer's and literary works by the composer Hanns Eisler . It ties in with the Eisler - Gesammelte Werke ( EGW ) edition, which began in the GDR and was initiated and supervised by Nathan Notowicz , Manfred Grabs and Eberhardt Klemm in the 1960s and published by the Deutsches Verlag für Musik in Leipzig. Four volumes of music and five volumes of writings were published, the first in 1968. The Hanns Eisler Complete Edition was brought into being after German unification with a new concept and expanded edition guidelines (in accordance with the standards of modern complete editions). Until January 2019, the HEGA office was based at the Peter Szondi Institute for General and Comparative Literature at the Free University of Berlin . Since February 2019 it has been connected to the archive of the Academy of the Arts in Berlin. The edition is published by the International Hanns Eisler Society (in collaboration with Stephanie Eisler [†] and the archive of the Academy of Arts, Berlin) and is published by Breitkopf & Härtel .

financing

The edition work is currently funded by the Hamburg Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Culture and the Hanns and Steffy Eisler Foundation. Funding by the German Research Foundation took place as a long-term project until January 2019 ; individual volumes were also supported by the Peter Klöckner Foundation and the Foundation Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin .
