Hanns U. Christians

Hanns Ulrich Christen (* 1917 ; † January 11, 2003 in Basel ), known as -sten , was a journalist , satirist and writer associated with the city and region of Basel .

Life

Christen worked for the National-Zeitung . He became known for his "Märtbricht" (market reports) in the Basler Zeitung . He also wrote the city feature pages and reports on the Zolli - aperitif . Christen was a wine and gastronomy expert and wrote several books. In addition, he worked for a long time for the Nebelspalter and delivered short reports to the Swiss radio DRS in old age.

In 1991, Christen received the "Ehrespalebärglemer" award from the former government councilor Arnold Schneider . This award is given to personalities who have made the city of Basel known beyond its borders in a positive sense.
