Hans-Dietrich Bernhard

Hans-Dietrich Bernhard (born June 19, 1945 in Flensburg ) is a German diplomat. From 2007 to 2010 he was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Gabon .

After studying law at the Ruhr University in Bochum and at the universities of Aix-en-Provence and Münster, he was initially a legal assessor (1973–1976).

After joining the Foreign Service in 1977, he worked at the embassies of the Federal Republic of Germany in Poland, Ghana, Mexico and Guatemala, at the consulate in Córdoba / Argentina and, in the meantime, at the Foreign Office in Bonn and Berlin.

From September 2004 Bernhard was Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Porto Alegre / Brazil . From 2007 to 2010 he took over the management of the German Embassy in Libreville .
