Hans-Georg Dreßen
Hans-Georg Dreßen (born December 30, 1964 in Mönchengladbach ) is a former German soccer player .
The original spelling of his name was Drehsen , but due to the outdated spelling , the hs became a ß .
The defender, who took his first steps in football at SV Mannesmann Meer , played successfully for Borussia Mönchengladbach for many years under coach Jupp Heynckes . In 1984 the team reached the DFB Cup final , but lost on penalties to Bayern Munich . When Dreßen was looking for a new challenge at Gladbach rival 1. FC Köln , he failed, not least because he was more prone to injury. In 1990 the Gladbachers brought him back on loan for a season. During this time he was seriously injured and therefore had to end his active career prematurely in 1992 without being used in his last season with the Cologne team.
He then acquired a football instructor license and worked as a co-trainer at Borussia Mönchengladbach , VfL Wolfsburg and RCD Mallorca. Today he runs a mobile soccer school.
