Career

In 1978 the showman family around Hans-Jürgen Tiemann bought the site of the former Heidenhof Wildlife Park near Soltau, which had previously been badly damaged by a storm, in order to open the Heide Park there.

In the 1990s, Hans-Jürgen Tiemann was successful as a driver and sponsor in touring car motorsport. He won several VLN long-distance races on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, together with Peter Zakowski in an ex- DTM - Mercedes 190 painted in the yellow Heide-Park color . In the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring , the duo took part in a BMW M3 E36 due to the rules and won the race in 1997 together with last year's winners Johannes Scheid and Sabine Reck .

In 1999 Zakspeed started with a superior Chrysler Viper , so that Tiemann / Zakowski won all VLN races, the VLN championship and the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring . Not least because of rule changes, these successes could not be repeated in 2000, Tiemann withdrew.
