Hans-Peter Meinecke

Hans-Peter Meinecke (* 27. January 1944 in Wuppertal ) is a German politician of the SPD .

Hans-Peter Meinecke obtained his secondary school leaving certificate in 1960 and his technical college certificate in 1973. From 1974 to 1975 he attended the Higher State Police School (now: University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration). From 1960 to 1963 worked in a weaving mill. From 1963 to 1965 he received training with the NRW police. From 1965 to 1969 he did guard and exchange duty with the police. In 1969 he switched to the criminal police. Most recently until 1995 he was the head of the state police in Wuppertal.

Hans-Peter Meinecke has been a member of the SPD since 1970. From 1987 to 1988 he was deputy sub-district chairman of the SPD. From 1985 to 1986 and from 1993 to 1995 he was a member of the subdistrict board. Since 1973 he has been the local association board member. Further stations in his political career were: from 1979 to 1989 member of the West District Council in Remscheid; from 1984 to 1989 competent citizen in committees of the council of the city of Remscheid. From 1989 to 2014 Meinecke was a member of the Remscheid City Council, where he was a member of the parliamentary committee and chairman of the school committee. From 1994 to 1995 he was its deputy chairman. Since 1995 he has held the post of group leader. He is also a member of the police union and the AWO .

Hans-Peter Meinecke was a directly elected member of the 12th and 13th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1995 to 2005.
