Hans-Ulrich Möhring

Hans-Ulrich Möhring (* 1953 ) is a German writer and translator .

Life

Möhring grew up in Mainz and initially trained as a bookseller after school. After his apprenticeship, he worked in sales and worked for half a year at the Walter de Gruyter publishing house in Berlin. He then worked for the Berlin Merve collective, where he translated some writings from English into German. He stayed abroad for some time and then earned his living in various jobs. In 1984 he began translating the works of various authors full-time, including William Blake , Joseph Campbell , James Hamilton-Paterson , JRR Tolkien , Tad Williams andZora Neale Hurston . His first self-written novel was published in 2008 under the title Vom Schweigen meine Translators .
