James Hamilton-Paterson

James Hamilton-Paterson (born November 6, 1941 in London , England) is an English writer , journalist and poet .

Life

Hamilton-Paterson attended the schools at Windlesham House in Sussex , Bickley Hall in Kent and the King's School in Canterbury before going on to study at Exeter College , Oxford .

From 1966 to 1968, Hamilton-Paterson worked as a nurse at the former St. Stephen's Hospital in Chelsea , London. From 1969 he was a reporter for the New Statesman , and from 1974 he worked for the women's magazine Nova . He lived intermittently for many years in the Philippines , where he is known as a commentator in newspapers and magazines. Two of his books, Ghosts of Manila and America's Boy , deal with this country and its political representatives. B. the married couple Ferdinand Marcos and Imelda Marcos .

From 2000 to 2002 he was a science columnist for Das Magazin in Zurich before taking on the same role for Die Weltwoche . After a stay in Italy, Hamilton-Paterson lives today (2011) in Austria.
