Hans-Ulrich Meier

Hans-Ulrich Meier (* 1938 in Bremen ) is a German professor of fluid mechanics .

From 1957 Hans-Ulrich Meier studied aircraft construction at the TH Braunschweig . In 1964 he became a research associate at the Aerodynamic Research Institute in Göttingen (AVA). In 1970 he received his doctorate and the following year he was given a teaching position in hydromechanics at the University of Applied Sciences in Bremen . In 1973 Meier went to the University of Maryland as Visiting Assistant Professor . From 1974 to 1997 he was Scientific Project Officer and headed the German-American data exchange agreement “Viscous and Interacting Flow Field Effects”.

In 1983 he was given a teaching position in flow measurement technology at Clausthal University of Technology. In 1986 he completed his habilitation there. From 1988 to 1998 he was director of the German-Dutch wind tunnel (DNW). In 1990 Hans-Ulrich Meier was appointed adjunct professor in Clausthal.
