Hans Eduard Ryhiner (born February 16, 1891 in Basel ; died June 10, 1934 there ) was a Swiss architect .

Education and early career

Ryhiner attended the Technical University of Munich from 1910 to 1914 , whether with or without a degree is unclear. After graduation he took a job in the office of his uncle Fritz Stehlin . He was in England from 1919 to 1922, and his own house on Chrischonaweg from 1924, which was built soon after, bears witness to his studies of English living culture. In 1923, after the death of his uncle, he took over his uncle's office. As a result, he was able to expand the Basler Handelsbank office in Freie Strasse / Barfüssergasse and build its branch in Zurich. Around 1930 he and Egon Vischer (1883–1973) converted the old stock exchange into the headquarters of the Basler Handelsbank. His most important work was the market hall in Basel , which he planned in collaboration with the engineer Adolf Goenner (1885–1929) and which was completed in 1929.
