Hans Höller (politician)

Hans Höller (born November 18, 1883 in Bruch near Stephanshart ; † May 2, 1963 in Amstetten ) was an Austrian politician ( CSP ) and bank director. Höller was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1921 to 1934 .

After attending the Volks- und Ackerbauschule, Höller did his military service between 1904 and 1907 and joined the Amstettner Sparkasse in 1909. During the First World War, Höller served again in the army between 1914 and 1917. Höller represented the Christian Social Party between May 11, 1921 and October 30, 1934 in the Lower Austrian state parliament.

He was a member of the Amstetten municipal council from 1924 and was elected vice mayor in 1925. During Austrofascism, Höller was mayor of Amstetten from 1934 to 1938; after the Second World War he held this office again in 1945. After the National Socialists came to power, Höller was arrested and imprisoned between March and August 1938. He was then employed by the diocesan administration. After the Second World War, Höller worked again at the Sparkasse until 1958. In addition, he held the office of Vice Mayor from 1947 to 1950, then belonged again to the municipal council from 1950 and was 1st Vice Mayor from 1955 to 1958.

His special commitment belonged to the volunteer fire brigade, so in 1922 he was elected to the state fire brigade advisory board as deputy chairman of the Amstetten volunteer fire brigade. He was re-elected in 1925, 1928, 1931, 1934 and 1937. In 1947 the name was changed from the State Fire Brigade Council to the State Fire Brigade Council. He held this position until the election in 1959, when he was replaced by Karl Sengstbratl for the Amstetten district. From 1947 to 1956 he was also the treasurer or paymaster of the select committee of the Lower Austrian Fire Brigade Association.
