Hans Helm (politician)

Hans Helm (born July 16, 1903 in Traismauer , † September 22, 1993 in Herzogenburg ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1964 to 1969 he was a member of the state parliament of Lower Austria .

Helm attended elementary school and from 1918 worked as a worker in a dye works. He was also active in various political functions from 1918 and was arrested for political reasons in 1934. From 1942 to 1945 he did military service, where he was captured by the Americans. After the war, Helm was active as a local councilor and deputy mayor in Traismauer from 1950 and took over the office of mayor of Traismauer between 1952 and 1972. He also represented the SPÖ from November 19, 1964 to November 20, 1969 in the Lower Austrian state parliament.
