Hans J. Pongratz (* 1957 ) is a German sociologist . He teaches as an adjunct professor at the Institute for Sociology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and has been researching at the ISF Munich research institute since September 2010 . Together with Gerd-Günter Voss , he coined the term labor entrepreneur.

Life

From 1963 to 1976 Pongratz attended elementary schools in Johanneskirchen and Vilsbiburg and the Hans-Leinberger-Gymnasium in Landshut . After completing basic military service , he studied sociology, psychology, and social and economic history at the LMU in Munich from 1978 to 1983. In 1990 he completed his doctorate with the Dr. phil from the Faculty of Education at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich , and in 2002 he completed his habilitation at the same university.

After working at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich (1985–1990), Pongratz accepted various teaching assignments in Munich, Augsburg and Chemnitz between 1992 and 2005. In addition to his scientific activities, he also worked as a freelancer from 1991 to 1997. In the 2003/04 winter semester, Pongratz was visiting professor for the professorship for economic and organizational sociology at the University of Hamburg and in the 2005/06 winter semester for the chair for labor policy at the University of Konstanz . From the summer semester of 2006 he was a substitute professor for the former teaching area of ​​Prof. Jutta Allmendinger (organizational sociology, educational sociology, sociology of social inequality) at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. He has been with ISF Munich since September 2010 .

Pongratz is one of the founders of the Institute for Social Science Information and Research eV in Munich (ISIFO). He was also co-editor of the journal “Sociologia Ruralis” and the “Journal of the European Society for Rural Sociology”.
