Hans Peter Brandl-Bredenbeck

Hans Peter Brandl-Bredenbeck (* 1959 ) is a German sports scientist and university lecturer.

Life

Brandl-Bredenbeck studied sport and French and passed the state examination in 1992. From 1992 to 1997 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Sports Science at the Free University of Berlin and between 1997 and 2006 at the University of Paderborn . In 1999 he obtained his doctorate in sports science, the subject of his dissertation was "Sports culture and youthful physical capital - a cross-cultural study using the example of Germany and the USA".

From 2006 to 2008 Brandl-Bredenbeck held a professorship for “Movement, Play and Sport in Childhood and Adolescence” at the German Sport University in Cologne . Between 2008 and 2011 he was professor for "Sport and Education" at the University of Paderborn. At the end of December 2011, Brandl-Bredenbeck took up a professorship for sports education at the University of Augsburg .

His main research interests include children's and youth sports, school sports, sports clubs and the health aspects of students.
