Hans Pundt

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hans Gottfried Pundt (born April 28, 1929 in Plauen ; † February 14, 2010 in the Maldives ) was a German engineer and scientist who was particularly active in the field of electrical energy supply .

Life

From 1949 to 1953, Pundt studied at the Technical University of Dresden . He then got a job at VEB Verbundnetz Ost in Dresden in the field of network expansion planning, network operation and network calculation. His doctorate was in 1963 with Harald Koettnitz at the Technical University of Dresden on the subject of "Investigations of the equalization processes during earth faults in high-voltage networks with isolated star point and inductive star point earthing as the basis for selective earth fault detection". From 1963 Pundt was a university lecturer at the Institute for Electrical Energy Systems at the TU Dresden. After completing his habilitation in 1968, he was given the professorship in the field of network planning and network calculation. Until 1995 he was director of the Institute for Electrical Power Supply. Pundt was an active member of the VDE district association in Dresden. Pundt led 35 doctoral students to doctorate. His special focus was on the area of network operation and earth fault compensation .
