Hans Roth (politician, 1889)

Hans Roth (born December 25, 1889 in Obergnas ( Styria ), † July 26, 1969 in Graz ) was an Austrian politician ( CS , ÖVP ), farmer and innkeeper.

Hans Roth attended the agricultural school in Grottenhof ( Graz ) and in 1913 took over his father's property. As an opponent of National Socialism , he was arrested several times. In 1949 he was given the professional title of Economics Council.

He is the father of the entrepreneur of the same name, Hans Roth .

Hans Roth was a member of the CSP in the National Council from December 2, 1930 to May 2, 1934 and from December 19, 1945 to June 9, 1959, a member of the ÖVP in the National Council.

Other political functions he held:

  • 1920–1938 and 1945–1964 mayor of Obergnas
  • 1923–1938 Chairman of the District Chamber for Agriculture and Forestry Feldbach
  • 1923–1928 member of the Styrian state parliament
  • 1934–1938 member of the Federal Economic Council
