Hans (Johannes Petrus Charles) Verhulst (born September 9, 1921 in Steenbergen , Netherlands ; † 2005 ) was a Dutch sculptor and graphic artist .

life and work

In 1950, Verhulst met the sculptors Wessel Couzijn , Carel Kneulman , Shinkichi Tajiri and Ben Guntenaar , who formed the group of sculptors Groep Amsterdam .

In Amsterdam you can find his sculpture Energie en tijd ((Electrical) Energy and Time), a wall sculpture from 1962 at the transformer station on Marnixstraat. Another work by Verhulst is a sculpture from 1954 at the former Rijksluchtvaartschool (Reich Aviation School), now the KLM Aviation Academy in Eelde .

In 1959, Verhulst took part in the St. Margarethen Sculpture Symposium in Austria and was one of the participants in the first European Sculptor Symposium with Karl Prantl .
