Hans Wagener (Manager)

Hans Wagener (born February 6, 1950 in Rosdorf ) is a German manager . Between 2003 and June 2010 he was the spokesman for the management board at PwC Germany and from 2010 to 2015 chairman of the supervisory board of Landesbank Baden-Württemberg .

Life

After graduating from high school, Wagener first did a banking apprenticeship at Commerzbank . He then studied business administration at the University of Göttingen .

In 1977 he started as an auditor assistant at Treuarbeit AG, a predecessor organization of PwC Germany. After taking both the tax advisor and auditor exams in the early 1980s, he left the company in 1985 and switched to the Auditing Association of German Banks . After returning to PwC Germany in 1987, he became the member of the board responsible for financial services in 1992. In the following years he also took on various international activities for PwC. In July 2003, he took over from Rolf Windmöller as CEO of PwC Germany. On June 30, 2010, he resigned as CEO.

In addition to his work for PwC, Wagener was a lecturer in the accounting department at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt and sits on the board of directors of the Institute of Auditors .

In August 2010, the owners of Landesbank Baden-Württemberg agreed on Wagener as the new chairman of the supervisory board, which was re-established after changing the legal form to a stock corporation . In 2015, Christian Brand was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Wagener stayed with the bank as a controller.
