Hanseatic City Festival Frankfurt (Oder)
The HanseStadtFest Frankfurt (Oder) in Frankfurt (Oder) (also known as "Bunter Hering") is one of the largest events of its kind in Eastern Brandenburg with more than 100,000 visitors over three days . This includes stages and booths in the middle of the city center, scenic performances with reference to the city's history and large fireworks .
It traditionally starts on the second Friday in July. Classics are sporting events such as the "run without borders" over the city bridge, couch surfing and the duck race.
The town festival was founded in 2003. Since 2008 it has been held together with the "Swawolny Kogucik" festival in the neighboring Polish town of Słubice .
The Hanseatic City Festival traces its name "Bunter Hering" back to an old legend.
