Hansjürgen Popp

Hansjürgen Popp (born January 23, 1933 ) is a German high school teacher and Germanist and author of books for German lessons.

Popp was born the son of the postal inspector Robert Popp and his wife Erna, née Hohnwald, in Bartenstein / East Prussia. After graduating from high school at the Katharineum in Lübeck at Easter 1953, he began studying German and classical philology in the 1953 summer semester. In 1968 he received his doctorate from the University of Tübingen for a study on Greek tragedy. phil. He was a teacher for German and Latin at the New Gymnasium Stuttgart-Feuerbach. He became known for the publication of several interpretation aids for German lessons on works by Büchner, Johnson and Schiller. In the Dietrich Bonhoeffer community in Weilimdorf he was responsible for the community letter for many years.
