Cocktail bites (or bites for short ) are cold dishes . The small, bite-sized bites generally consist of a base, topping, garnish and a skewer .

Cut to bite-sized bites such as B. bread, cheese, apples, boiled celery, cooked artichokes and other precious raw materials are topped, garnished and usually held together with a wooden or plastic skewer. They differ from the canapes , which are always bread types coated with butter or butter mixes.
