Harmen Hogehus

Harmen Hogehus (also Hugehueß) was a bell and tin caster in Rostock .

It was mentioned in 1575, 1580 and 1587. In 1584 he cast the bell of the church in Volkenshagen near Rostock. This bell bears the following inscription on the helmet:

in the top line: H. DAVID. WOLTER. AM. ICK. GENANT. A. SERVANT. GADES. AM. ICK. DAT. BIN ICK. WOL. EDGED.

in the middle line: JACOB. DVVEL. HANS. SAGER. CLAS. KALL. ANDREAS. HALL EMPTY. DAT. SIN. THE. KARKSWAGERE. VERE.

in the bottom line: the foundry mark M. as the foundry mark of HARMEN. HOGEHVS. 1584
