Urinary organ

The urinary organs ( Latin organa urinaria ) are a group of organs that are used for the formation and excretion of urine (syn. Urine ). Together with the sex organs , the urinary organs for organ system urogenital apparatus (Syn. Urogenital tract or genitourinary combined).

The urinary organs in vertebrates include :

  • Kidney ( lat.ren , greek nephros )
  • Ureter ( ureter )
  • Urinary bladder ( Vesica urinaria ), not formed in all vertebrates
  • Urethra ( urethral ), not formed in all vertebrates

In invertebrates , various forms of nephridia take on this task.
