The Harrisson Ice Rises are ice domes off the coast of the East Antarctic Queen Marie Land . In the Shackleton Ice Shelf they loom 12 miles west-southwest of Henderson Island .
The eastern group of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered them. Mawson named them after his biologist Charles Turnbull Harrison (1866-1914).
