Harry Falk

Harry Falk (* 1947 ) is professor emeritus for Indology at the Free University of Berlin . He is a member of the Academy of Sciences and Literature, Mainz and the German Archaeological Institute. From 1993 to 2012 he was director of the Institute for the Languages ​​and Cultures of South Asia, which was dissolved in 2012 at the instigation of the Presidium after more than 150 years of Indology in Berlin. His works are of a philological, archaeological and cultural-historical nature and deal exclusively with classical India from prehistory to the Guptas.
