The carbide tool factory Paul Horn GmbH is a German manufacturer of precision tools and accessories.

history

In 1969 Paul Horn registered a trade for the manufacture of hard metal tools under the name "Paul Horn Piercing Technology". While the company was based in Waiblingen, production at that time was in Gomaringen. The indexable insert type 312 is the first product in its own portfolio, as a result of which the company changed from a contract manufacturer to a manufacturer in 1972. After moving to Tübingen, the sole proprietorship with 60 employees became the Hartmetall-Werkzeugfabrik Paul Horn GmbH in 1982. In 1991 Horn Hartstoffe GmbH was founded as a subsidiary of Paul Horn GmbH. At the same time, Lothar Horn joined the family business in 1991 and became the company's managing director in 1995. In 1999 they moved into the new building in Tübingen. Administration, sales, training and seminar rooms, a demonstration center, research and development as well as the entire production including its own coating department were housed here. From 2008 to 2016, both the production area and the office space were further expanded. In 2018 Markus Horn took over the management alongside his father Lothar Horn. Since November 2018, Matthias Rommel has been another managing director responsible for technology and production.

Initial and continuing education

Paul Horn GmbH has been training industrial mechanics since 1985. Since 2020, in addition to training as an industrial mechanic, training as an industrial clerk and IT specialist for system integration has been offered.
