Hartmut Blum

Hartmut Blum (* 1966 ) is a German ancient historian .

Hartmut Blum studied ancient history, political science and philosophy at the University of Tübingen and received his doctorate in 1997 with the work “Purple as a status symbol in the Greek world” , supervised by Frank Kolb . From 2000 to 2002 he was a research assistant for ancient history at the Technical University of Braunschweig . In June 2002 he returned to the University of Tübingen as an academic advisor . Since 2009 he has been an academic senior councilor there.

Blum's research focus is the history of ancient Asia Minor .
