Harvey Eads

Harvey L. Eads (* 1807 , (South Union) Union Village (Ohio) , † 1892 ) was an influential conservative elder of Shaker in America in the 19th century.

Life

Eads belonged to the educated elite of the community and was a theologian. He represented a very isolationist position with a strong emphasis on cleaning ( english Purification ) and lifestyle ( English Ways of Life ). Until the American Civil War he was one of the main opponents of the reform-minded Frederic Evans .
