Resin trap

Resin trap

A resin trap is used as an aid in infusion processes to soak dry fibers. It ensures that the vacuum pump is not contaminated with resin .

Working principle

A resin trap consists of a pressure vessel with two connections. One connection is connected to the vacuum pump, the other to the vacuum build-up of the mold in which the component with the still dry fiber semi-finished product lies. The mold is also connected to a resin reservoir. The resin is sucked in due to the negative pressure and flows from the reservoir through the mold into the resin trap. There it collects on the floor so that it cannot be sucked into the pump.
