Hasan Shariatmadari

Seyyed Hassan Schariatmadari (* 1947, Persian حسن شریعتمداری Ḥasan Sharīʻatmadārī ) is an Iranian opposition politician. He is the leader of the Party of the Muslim People's Republic (حزب جمهوری خلق مسلمان ایران / Hezb-e Dschomhuri-ye Chalq-e Mosalman)formedby his father Ayatollah Kasem Schariatmadari , which was dissolved in Iran.

He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter a common word between us and you ( english A Common Word Between Us and You ), the personalities of Islam to "leaders of Christian churches everywhere" (Engl. "Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ..." ) (October 13, 2007).

Schariatmadari lives in Hamburg , is married and has three children.
