Hassetsu
Hassetsu ( Japanese 八 節 , dt. "Eight sections") describes the eight movement sections that are differentiated in Japanese archery kyudo . The sections can consist of one movement or, in turn, be composed of several individual movements.
Movements
- Ashibumi (足踏 み ): putting the feet
- Dozukuri ( 胴 造 り ): aligning the body

Yugamae ( 弓 構 え ): aligning the bow
- Torikake ( 取 懸 け ): grasping the tendon
- Tenouchi ( 手 の 内 ): putting the left hand
- Monomi ( 物 見 ): look to the goal
- Uchiokoshi ( 打起 し ): raising the bow
- Hikiwake ( 引 分 け ): opening the bow (sub-item Hekiryū: Sanbun no Ni ( 三分 の 二 ))
- Kai ( 会 ): Full extract (sub-items: Tsumeai ( 詰 合 い ), Nobiai ( 伸 合 い ); additionally Hekiryū: Yagoro ( や ご ろ ))
- Hanare ( 離 れ ): triggering the shot
- Zanshin ( 残 心 ): Retarded form.
