Hastings College of Arts & Technology

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hastings College of Arts & Technology is a state school in the UK . It is located in St. Leonards-on-Sea ( Hastings ), about halfway between Brighton and Dover , not far from the Eurotunnel .

Hastings College is known for the IB ( International Baccalaureate ) branch they have been offering for several years in the 6th grade (6th form). The class has around 50 students from many countries, including a large proportion of African and Indian students, most of whom come to England at the age of 16 or 17 with a performance scholarship ( Pestalozzi ) for the IB.

The Hastings College of Arts & Technology is now one of the best language schools in the country and is the only public school in England to offer students from Europe the opportunity to live in a nearby boarding school (Buckswood). These boarders then live in accommodation provided by Buckswood not far from the school.

Due to increasing awareness and growing numbers of applicants, Hastings College is now very strict in the selection of its students. During the interviews, particular attention is paid to the applicants' certificates, but the social component is not neglected. In addition, there are opportunities in the local sports club to complete large parts of the CAS program (Creativity, Action, Service) required for successfully completing the IB.
