Main track

As a main track is called in railway tracks, which fuse technically train may be used. With the exception of train control operations , main tracks are limited by main signals or ETCS stop signs .

On main tracks can as on sidings and shunting (in Austria: Verschubfahrt) operate, for the additional locking signals or wait character can be set up.

Main tracks are divided into continuous main tracks and (non-continuous) main tracks. Continuous main tracks are the main tracks of the open line and their continuation in the stations.
